Iran

Turkey's choice of modernity is well known by both the US and Iran. It is either successful or not a European path which Turkey desire to pursue.

For Iran, before the Islamic Regime, Iran used to be influenced by the Turks for a modernity in the 19th century until the fall of Shah regime whereas the two countries had been a neighbor in a moderate competitiveness but not close allies.

Along with the Islamic Revolution, it was seen and officially accepted as a theocratical regime threat by Turkey, yet, the Kemalist movement transformed into a "theological" thought, observed in the political discourse especially after 1980 as well...

I sometime questioned if ever Iran had taken any part in this yet I also knew the situation of the academia, freedom of research, press in Turkey.
