Notes on the "internet of things" as part of economic activities

Hacking is a stranger issue for this contemporary decade few notes can be contributive to clarify the language it consist: hacking is a slang and verbal name of the illegal use of the opportunities of the internet of things for thievery, fraud etc.

By Internet Service Providers (ISP) usually under the states' maintenance, ordinary users through their personal computers can have access to the web pages, to explain broadly the internet use.

Yet the applications in order to maintain it, with its capabilities is open to use for mischievous purposes unless its security principles are fulfilled. Yet also the developers has to update or reform these applications very often along with the changing circumstances such as changes in the operating systems or standards etc.

There is not sufficient legislation on these issues but most of the applications when purchased propose a licence agreement, and at least offer developments as updates in accordance with recent changes I tried to explain above.

Even without a knowledge of these, there are issues of fraud. Or even without thievery or fraud, by opening a web site with explicit content and through advertisements to earn money, is part of this subject.

Recently in Turkey a web site based economical initiative collected enormous amount of money within very short period of time in exchange of a service (although then commodities also had been added) but its legal background not very clearly explained, also as the aggrieved parties told increase of earnings was enormous and quite in short period of time, and users participated through accountancy. In such cases, there are state bodies that has the right to intervene to investigate the financial activity.

Moreover such issues debated to be impossible for being explained among public open and securely, but it is one point of view. Within the European Union and its members there are studies for a better education of the internet use.

Recent debates in Turkey without investigative approaches

Cyber issues
Cyber issues -a quite broad subject and cyber should be a term utilized in subjects under security eg. internet security etc.

Turkey is enormously behind the rest of the eg. European countries and I think the better understanding of computers is also necessary to clarify, primarily. Lack of knowledge are usually covered up with empty, non-argumentative or non-knowledge agonies. This devices used in daily-life very much is comprehended by myths and imaginations. Then may be internet use and its relation with democracy, or trolls can be better understood.

Computers are functional tools but works with the electricity in the basis. There is a screen and it is in co-operation with the operating system that we can use a computer with a wide range of issues by visual references.

In primitive computers users had to provide a "code"/ or a 'signification' that can "guide" the computer to configure each process user want to proceed. Like Fortran, with cards, because those computers had no operating system but the mechanism (of the computer) could be configured with "codes" applied on cards, a simple process could be maintained in accordance with the punched-cards (there are holes on cards which enables the mechanism to acquire an interpretation of the demanded operation or can be said, the mechanism is guided by those cards and holes to proceed a process.

And to prepare a card, a code, or a reference for the computer to compute the demanded process: its management was on the user's side. Either primitive or in a different form of todays modern programming languages it was a language as well in different, narrow-range form. The card was not a button: a one-sided application, but it was inter-active. Those computers were used by scientists mainly for applied mathematics as calculators not only for algebra but for other domains as well in researches.

The modern computers we use today are more focused to manage, those interactive need and demand of the people, on the screen mechanism: so another mechanical system for computers had been under development since decades, within its mechanical (or hardware) side. And for the programming applications those operating systems were also developed in accordance with the development of programming languages other than punched-cards but more like the human languages but on a more strict analytical base.

Proceeding of processes are simplified also with already-prepared applications instead of preparing punched-cards (like Windows Explorer, or Safari, -like fast-food) in accordance with the skills of the operating system applications (like Windows, Linux) to manage various applications: so an application can be found according to the needs and the rest is usually managed by visual references primarily.

Those preparations ought to require a memory, a space to preserve all this so there was developments for memory units as well, like hard disk, ram, cd, usb... for different needs.

For the network, or the internet: as I have explained there is also a network between the screen and the operating system or between the mechanisms of the computer so: primitive computers could print the results of the process on a paper and a protocol could be developed between computers within the same principle of electronic circuits to both processing a data and to transmit it to another computer. Morse code we know used in the 20th century is almost the same principle of the internet network, there is an inter-language and which is simple to transmit.

There are also web-applications, like this blogger, that you can prepare a blog page, and publish it.

For the youth:
It is also debated that teaching programming languages to kids is going to augment the quality of education in Turkey. Which is impossible. How can be taught to a kid an integer or binary without mathematical instruction.

The best code a young one can learn is a language of a civilization through its literature, modern or ancient and daily newspapers, it cities etc. Instead of paying 10.000 euros each year to private schools within the 4 years of high school education people can learn a lot from a summer vacation in a foreign country to learn a language and a culture and civilization with less then 3.000 euros. How can be taught to kids programming language without teaching them English. There is no use of it if their ability to reach to a wide-range of resources is not supported, no class is well given.

Modern (Cyber) Slavery: Data Protection and its derivative employments

New terms and concepts are in need to better describe and depict consequences of the violation of the Rule of Law. As George Vedel had also took the attention:

"Furthermore, totalitarianism does not consist only in the concentration of all political power (directly or indirectly) in the same hands (man or party), but also in the fact that the political authorities claim to control all aspects of the individual's life: his upbringing, his intellectual training, his beliefs, his work, his leisure, his private life, etc.

The struggle against totalitarianism therefore implies another series of "separations": separation of State and private life; separation of State and religion or beliefs in the broadest sense; separation of State and work."

Along with "political authorities" comes new notions to be anticipated within the law, legislation consequently of the cyber issues brought to the contemporary age which also requires not only textual laws but concepts to be comprehended by the judiciaries.

  • post-cyberage feudalsim
  • feudal totalitarianism / terrorism
  • diverse totalitarianism / terrorism
  • illegal / unpermitted offences through illegal accession of datas totalitarianism / terrorism

" In his 2007 book on Jim Jarmusch, author Juan Antonio Suarez remarks that the director’s films “are centrally concerned with situatio...
