Women have decided in the last Feminist March not to invite men. For me it was both curiosity and fun to stare at women en marche but also having fun and revolting at the same time. Yet the society seems like got used to these manifestations.
A depiction of a feminist in general in Turkey is a women in anger. While women in the language or culture was only a signification as of mens' object of sexual desire, it was quite an unusual circumstance women to revolt in the streets with criticisms to the men.
Because there is not a movement like masculinism (Instead usually Islamists are responding to the feminists social quests) I follow the feminism as a requisite for me in the contemporary and try to have my own evaluation and criticism of men and women in the society. Yet the fear -women to perpetually reject men is also felt in the Turkish society. But still among such recent thrilling stories as child marriage or violence against women and girls, there remains no place to discuss the foundations of a society and being human. Child abuse was the leading topic in Turkey recently.
It's been a difficult decade for women in Turkey. But still I think feminism is not yet a mature social movement and very much in bound to the society and men.
Feminism is feminine rationality and its interpretation of the Public and Private Life. But I should also emphasize that the cause to acquire a feminine rationality in this century is only because it was oppressed through the history and not for another reason.
Social catastrophic problems shouldn’t be put, as an obligation, on the shoulders of this social movement but also the fact that the feminist movement is anyhow remarkably a movement sharing the values with the democracy shouldn’t be evaded as well. And feminism shouldn’t feel an a priori responsibility for the social turmoils which makes it much difficult in perceiving or adopting of the feminine rationality.
